General Meeting
August 08, 2022

7:40 p.m. Meeting called to order

ATTENDEES:
Dan Reiter, Tom & Cindy, Dominic, Diana, Lenny, Sam Ritter, Dan & Anna, Denny, Mike F., Kevin, Al, Mike W., Bret & Bobbie

NOTES:

Dan R went over the checking account and bank balances which will be reduced with some expenses for the upcoming regional.

Dan R noted that we will be closing out the current checking account as soon as the 401c is in place and opening a new one under the new Club name and 401c.

New Member – Sam Ritter – introduced herself and said her family had classic Mustang and her first vehicle was a F150 Lighting.  Currently has a 2018 GT350.

Al attended as his first meeting as member.  Did a track event in June at Charlotte and wants to do more track events.

Tom’s Cobra is completed and looks fantastic and so does his new garage floor.

Dominic & Diana bought back their 1969 Shelby GT350.

Lenny mentioned he is selling some of his cars:

365 GT C4 marron Ferrari

1988 Calibolet 4 sp – 26,000 miles – originally a $90,400 car – has original window sticker

May sell his Jaguar race car – V12 1957 Thunderbird – 312 4B in pearl sand

Mike Fountaine mentioned he went to Cioccia Ford event.  Was a good event.

Mentioned he approached Cioccia Ford about sponsorship for the regional and when they saw the back of last year’s shirt with two Ford dealers listed, they said they would not do it.
We do not have a Ford sponsor this year.  Mike may let them know that and see if they would be willing to do it.

Gary was in not attendance but he had texted Diana saying he saw Chuck Cantwell at Macungie.  Chuck will probably come to our event.

OLD BUSINESS:

  1. Cars & Coffee at Manderbach Ford – May 21, 2022 – a few folks had gone and said it was okay.
  2. Cars & Coffee at AACA Museum, Hershey – 60 years of Shelbys – 2 real Cobras – approximately 30-40 cars
  3. Team Shelby East Coast Nationals – June 2-4 – Pocono Raceway & Fords at Carlisle – Fords at Carlisle was a record setting event for number of Fords. Raised $30,000 for charities.
  4. SAAC-47 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway – June 16-18 – Dan & Denny attended. Ended up doing a ton of volunteering as they needed help everywhere.  Had to end up driving home because of a cancelled flight.  Next year maybe at Beaver
  5. Snakes on the Mountain – Absolutely a beautiful day with the highest number of cars for this event. So much so that coffee and donuts ran out very early.   64 Vipers so they took the trophy this year.  42 Fords so we need to try harder next year to get those Shelbys and GTs out of storage.  Also, 11 Ferraris.  Dominic & Diana’s 73 Pantera was the only old car on the tour.  Tour went very smoothly with a great stop at an airport which was very active with small planes in and out while we were there.  Some folks ate lunch there and said the food was excellent.

Next year’s Snakes on the Mountain will be held practically next door at Mike Fountaine’s house, see flyer on our website and our Facebook page.

Northeast Regional:

Dan mentioned:

  1. Half of the rooms are taken so far.
  2. Reviewed the schedule from the flyer.
  3. The drive will take us to an airport and there is a mini golf and go cart directly across from it.
  4. MORE SPONSORS NEEDED
  5. Volunteers Needed
  6. Club shirts for workers/volunteers – bright yellow

Diana will check with Scott to work the front gate – confirmed he will do it

Diana will check with Gary to see if Deb will help with pre-registered at gate and if Tracey will handle merchandise again.

Cindy will help with baskets with Anna this year

Charity – Dan M will see about getting a rep to be at the show to pick a car for Charity’s Pick trophy.

DJ – Dan M will get DJ again

Sweatshirts – Dan R will only order sweatshirts for folks who want them.  Contact Dan R as soon as possible for him to include in t-shirt order.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

  1. Iron Pigs Baseball Game – Saturday evening – August 27th – there are still a few seats available – Contact Dan R
  2. Cars & Coffee at Ray Price Ford, Saylorsburg – September 17th
  3. Fall North East Regional – September 25-27th – information and registration on our website and Facebook page
  4. It was mentioned there is a car show at Freehold Ford on September 11th that usually get around 400 cars.

Events to be Scheduled:

2022 Club Dinner – formally known as our Christmas Party!

Club usually pays for half

Lenny suggested Morgan’s again and that they have a room that we could use instead of being in the open restaurant like last year.

Discussion followed about if we wanted entertainment.  If we do it was noted that the room at Morgan’s is not big enough for members and entertainment.

Mike F suggested a restaurant in Skippack PA.  He will check into.

TAKING OTHER SUGGESTIONS TOO

Club Website:

Up and running with new web logic behind it.  We were up for renewal in late June and Diana made the decision to allow the web master to upgrade the software which he had suggest at last year’s renewal time.  We were already late with getting our regional registration on the website and this caused a further delay.  We apologize to everyone for this.  Once all the bugs are worked out, we will have a much better and updated looking website.

50/50 – won by Al – congrats

Meeting adjourned – 9:07 p.m.
