General Meeting
Feb 19, 2024

Meeting called to order: 7:15 PM

Dan welcomes all attendees for attending and hoping for a great 2024 season of events.

Secretary Report: Motion to pass on the reading of the minutes.

Financial Report: Balance of accounts were e-mailed out.

Membership: Dan R. states there are currently 30 paid family members.

Correspondence: 2023 Club Regional charity organization Tails of Valor sent a letter of thanks
for the $1500 donation for the club. A formal presentation is planned for a later date.
Club also received the 2024 Insurance bill for coverage of all events.

Old Business:
• Saturday February 17 was the clubs annual dinner gathering, held at the Superior
Restaurant this year. Everyone had a great time and this year Team Piston Ringers won
the trivia challenge. Dan thanked Dan & Anna Mohry for putting this event on and for
collecting food donations for the Second Harvest Food Bank.

• Dan reviewed the 2024 Club Officers this year. This year has Dan R. as President, Gary M.
as Secretary, and Diana D. as the Treasurer.

Cash prize of $50 was won by Dan R.

New Business:
• Go Karts are reserved for Sunday, March 17 for 10:00 – noon at S&S Speedway. Cost will
now be $45.00 per person. Dan asked Team Shelby and the N.J. Mustang club for a
challenge race this year.

• America on Wheels Museum in Allentown is going to have a featured Mustang display
from March 19, 2024 to October of this year. If anyone is interested in loaning your car
for that display please contact Dan Mohry for more detailed information.

• Seraphinos Cars & Coffee Event will not happen any more due to new owners. Dan and
the club are looking for another location in the approximate area in April for the
morning event to continue. Will be posted when it all comes together. Dan M did offer
the Fearless Fire Co. in South Allentown as an option as they do have breakfast on
weekends.

• Manderbach Ford of Hamburg will again host a Saturday morning cruise – in this year.
They would like 2 events with April & August as their choice of months. Jack K. will work
out the dates and the club will post them at a later time.

• Ford Carlisle show will be held 5/31 – 6/2 at the Carlisle Fairgrounds. Many club
members attend this event and have a great time.

• 2024 Snakes on the Mountain will be on held on Saturday June 15, 2024 from 9:00 –
2:00 at Joyce and Denny Blocker's home in Lehighton once again. Viper will be the
Featured Marque for 2024. Changes for this year are elimination of the driving tour and
having guest speakers discuss the history, origins, and production of the Dodge Viper.
Coffee and donuts will be provided in the morning and further food details to be
announced at a later time. Dan M. did voice his concern that this event seems to have
been taken oven in recent years by the Viper club. To lower Viper attendees the VOA
(Viper Owners of America) club is now only allowing current VOA club members to
attend this event. Ford Performance and Ferrari automobile owners do not need to be a
club member. The 2025 event Featured Marque will be the 1965-66 GT-350 and 1966
GT-350H models. The date will be Saturday, June 14 2025 at a TBD location. We hope to
have several knowledgeable guest speakers on these cars in attendance.

• Bikers against Bullies will have their annual fund raising drive Sunday, June 23 Leaving
from Keystone Harley in Whitehall. The non-stop route will go to Blue Mtn. Ski area and
will end at the Silver Creek park in Springtown. Food and drinks will be available at the
end of the drive. Cost is $20.00 per car. For more info contact Dan M.

• SAAC49 will be held at NJMP on 7/25 – 7/27/24 in collaboration with the SVRA and Team
Shelby East Coast Grand National. There will be several day of open track driving, parade
laps for any car, and driving and dinner events. Open track will be for Shelby cars only
Thursday and Friday mornings. Team Shelby will again have a poker run which will end at
a vintage airplane museum complete with photo ops. Friday will be a trip to the Simeone
collection 10-4 for a speech about Carrolls racing career before building cars, then a walk
around of the cars he had a hand in creating. Team Shelby formal will be Thursday night
at the Flanders Inn at Ocean City and the SAAC formal is Friday at the NJMP Private
member club. Registration is at www.motorsportsreg.com and is currently open. For
2025 there has been rumors that SAAC 50 may be held in California at the Willow
Springs Raceway.

• The Ford GT reunion will also be held on 7/25 – 7/27/24. This event will be hosted by
Fran Kress and will be in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Grand Prix. They are trying to
get many original Ford GT's from all over the world for this event.

• Das Awkscht Fescht will be celebrating 60 years of the Mustang by having that car the
2024 Featured Marque. Dates for this Macungie event are August 2-4, 2024.

• Iron Pigs Night has a new ticket plan option this year. Dan will gauge interest throughout
the summer to determine if it will happen. No date is set but most likely will be in
August.

• The LV Shelby Club “regional” event will be held on September 22 at Silver Creek in
Springtown again. This is now a 1 day only car show. A discussion to open the car show
to all makes / models of cars from 1960 -up was talked about. Dan M mentioned that
several well attended shows have older model years as they come out in droves. No set
classes are determined yet so changes and suggestions are welcome. Please contact Dan
Reiter with input.

• LV Shelby Club driving route day is tentatively set for the Saturday or Sunday of the
October 12 weekend. One possible route is the PA “Tail of the Dragon”. Other routes are
being considered also as Dan R will determine the final route. Denny B offered any help
for routes also. This event will have a cost per car and will include a lunch of some type.
Future plans will be updated as they come together.

• Ray Price Ford in Stroudsburg would like us to have another Saturday morning cruise -in
at their dealership. There is nothing set-up yet but Dan R is hoping to set a date. Will be
posted when it is finalized.

• Bruce Larsen would enjoy hosting the club at his famous drag racing barn in Harrisburg
sometime this year. Lots of cool racing history and cars are inside an old barn for those
never there before. No date set but Dan R is working on that and will post the info when
finalized.

• 2025 Events have Team Shelby hosting a track day at NJMP running on the Lightning
course.

• 2025 Event with SAAC in conjunction with Bill Collins may be held in the Harrisburg area.

Financial Report: Checking has $604.12, Savings has $6,400.00 and the PayPal account is
$238.95.

Membership: Dan R. states there are currently 43 paid family members.

Correspondence: 2023 Club Regional charity organization Tails of Valor sent a letter of thanks
for the $1500 donation for the club. The Paws of Valor program will celebrate 10 yrs. of service
this year.

Old Business:
• The annual Go-Kart event had 15 drivers and was again won by Chris M. Second place
went to Ryan and Sonny finished in third position.

• The clubs Spring C&C event was held at Lake Nockomixion this year and had a great
turn-out of all kinds of cars. This location seemed to be liked by all so club will look into
possible food trucks for here or maybe a different location.

• Manderbach Ford event had another great event organized by Jack K. Well over 100 cars
and running out of parking spots. The dealership loves hosting us and proposed possibly
returning in October with a show having awards presented by the local fire department
and police. We will review this later again.

• America on Wheels Museum in Allentown is going to have a featured Mustang display
from March 19, 2024 to October of this year.

New Business:
• Ford Carlisle show will be held 5/31 – 6/2 at the Carlisle Fairgrounds. Many club
members attend this event and have a great time.

per car and will include a lunch of some type. Future plans will be updated as they come
together.

to Silvercreek. Food and refreshment will be served at the end.

• Sunday, June 30th the Venom Club is having a club event at America on Wheels and we
are invited to attend. Admission is buy 1 get one free.

• A Birthday cake with candles was presented to Diana and we all sang Happy Birthday in
appreciation for all her contributions to the club.

• 2025 Events have Team Shelby hosting a track day at NJMP running on the Lightning
course.

• 2025 Event with SAAC in conjunction with Bill Collins may be held in the Harrisburg area.

Dan mentioned that member Kurt Hutt is having treatments for Lymphoma cancer and that all 
of us should give him our blessings for full recovery.
 
Correspondence: Only the club insurance bill came in this month.

Old Business:

  • The Snakes on the Mountain event had a great turnout for this event that focused on the
    Dodge Viper. Lots of Ford performance vehicles turned out to help us win the best 
    attended Marque for 2024. There was a good mix of cars and some fantastic Panteras 
    and a rare Mangusta to help with the win!! Viper club member Gary Schwiekert offered 
    his home for a future S.O.T.M. Event.

  • The Bikers against Bullies event went well but attendance was down due to the 
    predicted weather. Still the cruise was great and we finished back at the start where 
    LOTS of food and drink was awaiting our arrival. Even with the lower turn-out $16,000 
    was raised for the charity

  • Ford Carlisle once again set an attendance record and everyone who went had a great 
    time. Ford GT's and 65 Shelby GT-350's will be focused on next year.

Membership: Dan R. states there are currently 46 paid family members.
Len R has a broken hip and is recovering at home. Kurt H is recovering well from chemo
treatments and his recovery looks very promising.

Correspondence: None.

Old Business:
• SAAC 49 in New Jersey had the Team Shelby Poker Run on Thursday and SAAC did the
Simeone visit on Friday and both were well attended. Convention attendance was down
and only a few “old” cars were there. The Saturday car show went well and the SAAC
50th will be held in California next year.

• The Menderbach Ford show on Aug 10 had a low turnout. The dealer says they will host
more events again in 2025

• The Ray Price cars and coffee went very well with many different makes and model
attending. Approximately 75 cars went in/out that morning. They also will do an event in
2025 and possibly have a food truck there also.

• Snakes on the Mountain had an absolutely fantastic turnout with the Ford attendees
bringing home the trophy for best attending Marque We won by just 2 cars!! Next year
will focus on the 65 – 66 GT-350's and the 66 Hertz cars. Location has not be finalized
yet but planning to again be on Saturday, June 14, 2025. Details to follow.

• The 2024 Das Awschst Fescht featured the Mustang as the Marque and it was well
represented over the 3 day event. Gary M. had his 70 Boss 302 in the Heritage tent
under the direction of the A.A.C. A. from Hershey. Chuck Cantwell was also the on Sat &
Sun for a question session each morning and afternoon.

• Boss National in Pittsburgh had a rather low attendance mostly due to the weather.
Dominic & Diana had their 69 Boss 429 on display and won the class from the show on
Saturday.

• The Ford GT National were also held in Pittsburgh. Dominic & Diana had out her Ford GT
to the event and also participated in the parade laps. There was 1 original GT-40 at the
event.

consisting of all makes and models of cars. The charity selected for this year is Dragonfly
Ranch which helps children with disabilities to get assistance and maintain that through
older age children when other programs stop. Anna will again be running the basket
raffle as she has done in the past. We have 5 sponsorship's to help cover costs. We need
volunteers to help in all areas and please be there 7:30-7:45 for the event

• The LV Shelby Club driving route day is set for the Saturday of the October 12 weekend.
Rain date is Sunday October 13. The route is the PA “Tail of the Dragon”. We will be
leaving from Cabela's in Hamburg and driving 107 miles in a loop back to the store. We
will stop at the Appalachian Motorsports ATV Park for our lunch which is included in the
fee.

• The Simeone Museum is hosting a Shelby Day on Saturday, Nov 23. The program will
speak about the Shelby Daytona and Ford GT's in the collection with the cars running
out back weather permitting.

• Gary M will look into a possible tour of the AACA museum in Hershey for the Shelby
Memorabilia Exhibit. We may also have the opportunity to get a “behind the scenes”
tour of other items and vehicles in the storage buildings not open to the public. More
details will follow but will try for a Feb-March time to visit.

• Dan M may look into a tour at Iron Trap Garage possible in October. He will send out a
notice if this event comes together.

• Ron R is selling his Contemporary Cobra for a price of $55,000

• Denny B is selling his 2020 Rapid Red Shelby GT-500 w/ the carbon fiber track pack. He is
accepting offers for the car as he was awarded the opportunity to purchase a 2025 Ford
Mustang GTD!!

• The club X-mas dinner is again planned by Dan & Anna. The date will be Saturday Dec.
14 at the Superior Restaurant in Emmaus.

• November is Open Elections for the Executive Board positions for our club.

50/50 Drawing: $52.00 to winner – winner Lamar.

Financial Report: Financial reports were read by Dan R.
In other financial changes it was announced that the club is now using Square to accept online
payments for memberships and other events. PayPal was previously used for transactions.

Charity Donation: A presentation and check was given to this years chosen charity Dragon Fly
Ranch. This organization provides help and assistance to older children with disabilities after
they are too old to be on other programs. A check of $1900 was made out and Dan asked for
any volunteers to add cash to round up to $2000. Generous club members donated another
$220 in cash on the spot.

Membership: Dan R. mentioned that 2 new members joined the club. Now there are currently
45 paid memberships. Enrollment for next years dues are now available online or to Dan in
person.

Correspondence: None.

Old Business:
• The annual club show held at Silver Creek had a good turnout with 151 cars and
motorcycles attending. Anna & Melissa did a great job with the baskets and selling of
50 / 50 tickets with $1,557 coming in from those two avenues. Dragon Fly Ranch was the
chosen charity for this event.

• The annual club driving event had a nice selection of cars from close and far away,
including a REAL 65 GT-350 and a super nice 66 GT-350H black 4-spd car. The route was
110 miles of very rural roads including the 13 mile stretch of the “PA Tail of the Dragon”.
Lunch & ice cream was at the Anthracite ATV Offroad Park. The event did make the club
money and a good day was enjoyed by everyone.

• The Ray Price cars and coffee went very well with many different makes and models

• Nomination of Club Officers for the 2025 year were open. Dan R was nominated to be
President, Diana D for Treasurer, and Gary M for Secretary. No other names were on the
ballot so those 3 will be the returning Officers for 2025.

• The club X-mas dinner is again planned by Dan & Anna. The date will be Saturday Dec.
14 at the Superior Restaurant in Emmaus. Reservations and payment can be made on
the club website. When registering online EACH person must sign up individually, NOT as
a couple. Dan & Anna will again be collection new toys for the Toys for Tots program to
be given to local children in the Valley.

• The Simeone Museum is hosting a Shelby Day on Saturday, Nov 23, from 11-2PM. The
program will speak about the Shelby Daytona and Ford GT's in the collection with the
cars running out back weather permitting.

• Denny has flyers to hand out to advertise to get a great Ford turnout for the 2025 SOTM
event to be held at his home on Saturday June 14, 2025. The featured car is the 65 / 66
GT-350 and the 66 Hertz cars. Guest speakers, great cars, food for purchase, and perhaps
a surprise big rig will be there.

• SAAC 50 will be held in California with 3 days of track time at Sonoma Raceway. This is in
August of 2025.

• The annual club show is planned to return to Silver Creek in the September 21-23 range.
The exact date will be announced later.

• The annual club driving event is planned for October with the exact date to be
announced later.

• A recommendation was made from Kevin T to possibly have the charity tied to the 25th
anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. This will be followed up in the future to perhaps find
local ties to that event.

• Ron R is selling his Contemporary Cobra for a price of $55,000.

• Denny B is selling his 2020 Rapid Red Shelby GT-500 w/ the carbon fiber track pack. He is
accepting offers for the car as he was awarded the opportunity to purchase a 2025 Ford
Mustang GTD!!
