BOSS
REUNION 2024

Story by Diana Duffee
Traveled out to Pitt Race in Pittsburgh for the second time in a month span, first to the 2024 GT 60th Reunion and now the 2024 Boss 55th Reunion. Weather was not very promising when we left home and sure enough traveling across the PA turnpike we were dumped on twice with extremely heavy rain, thankfully no hail. After five hours finally arriving at the hotel. Friday morning head out to Pitt Race with very iffy weather for the day, after a brief shower in the morning we got the Boss 429 out of the trailer to put on display with the other Boss’. Huge rainbow covered the west sky which also meant a storm was rolling through, yikes time to put the car back in the trailer while it down poured!!! Saturday brought more showers on and off all day long. We had the car out of the trailer and back in five times since we restored ten years ago the car hasn’t ever been in the rain and we prefer to keep it that way. Some of the day on Friday and most of the day Saturday the concours judges were busy judging nine cars. Sunday brought beautiful weather, awards for the concours judging were handed out and there were also four cars that were picked as celebrity picks. We were picked by Dan from Medice Mfg. which was a real honor to receive. Around lunch time all the Boss cars went out on the track for a group photo and two painfully slow laps around the track. Packed up and headed home. See pictures, hope you enjoy and maybe be sorry you did not attend as apparently 30 some folks signed up but did not show up so there was a lighter turnout.

BOSS REUNION-2024

FORD GT 60TH
REUNION

July 25-28, 2024

The Ford GT 60th Reunion was held at Pitt Race in Pittsburgh July 25th through July 28th. This event was also part of the Vintage Race series. Could not have asked for better weather Friday and Saturday, mid 80s with a nice breeze and low humidity. The track had lunch laps which are also charity laps. The charity laps gave people the opportunity to ride in a Ford GT around the track for a lap with a maximum speed of 70 mph but to be honest the pace car took us over that more than once. Actually saw the car shift into 7th gear! Friday there were only about 40-45 people in line for the charity laps so the second set of folks got to get an extra lap. On Saturday there were about 40 Ford GTs willing to participate in the charity laps and there were so many people signed up for laps it took 8 individual laps to handle all of them. Friday also had time slotted to allow only the Ford GTs to get out on the track without any passing for about 6 laps. Get opportunity to take someone out, let me get a feel for the track and video it they chose. Saturday had time slotted for only the Ford GTs to do ‘hot laps’ (no passengers and helmets a must) which allowed passing in the straights. What an awesome track with three up high blind corners and a couple of sweeping up hills. As you will see in the pictures they tried to take a group photo but there were so many cars I suspect that the ones at the top of the hill are not in the pro’s pictures. I was able to climb up onto one of the towers and take a few pictures so I did get them all but not all in one shot. Great weekend, hung out with friends and enjoyed putting our 2020 Ford GT on the track. It now has 205 miles on it!!! Enjoy the pictures.

CARS & COFFEE
SHELBY STYLE

April 14, 2024

Lehigh Valley Shelby Club held a Cars & Coffee at Nockamixon State Park on Sunday, April 14, 2024. What a huge turnout for an event that little time to put together. It was a warm, sunny Spring morning, perfect day to get old and new cars out for a drive and get together with like minded car people. Great to catch up with people we don’t see all winter. Enjoy the pictures.
